Abstract Artwork and the Artist’s Background

My name is Brad Berkheimer and I have been a full-time professional decorative painter and artist in the Monterey and Pebble Beach areas of California for over 40 years. I am self-taught and have specialized in many types of faux finishes, decorative painting of interior spaces, as well as custom automotive painting and graphics.

I have transitioned those skills and experiences to find renewed joy and inspiration in the painting of original abstract art on canvas. My painting is guided by the forms, textures, colors and movement I find in Nature. I look to create unique organic abstract paintings and attempt to capture a full spectrum of tones, dynamics and harmonic imagery found in the natural world.

As for my personal life, I have practiced the Transcendental Meditation Technique daily for more than 50 years. I studied personally with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Mallorca Spain to become a teacher of this technique and then taught it to others full-time for a number of years. Those deeply impactful experiences have profoundly informed every aspect of my personal and artistic life and I hope my current artwork reflects that sensibility and perspective.
